Howard Eng has been President and CEO of the Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) since 2012. The GTAA manages and operates Toronto Pearson International Airport – Canada’s largest airport and North America’s second largest gateway hub for international passengers. In his role, Howard has focused the GTAA team on delivering Toronto Pearson’s long-term vision: to become the best airport in the world. Prior to joining the GTAA, Howard served as Executive Director, Airport Operations at the Airport Authority Hong Kong, which operates Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA). In his 17 years with HKIA, Howard played an integral part in moving Hong Kong onto the world’s stage as a global hub that consistently enjoys top rankings. Over an 11-year span, HKIA won more than 40 Best Airport awards. From 1993 to 1995, Howard was Vice President of Operations at Edmonton International Airport in Alberta, Canada. Prior to that, he held various positions within Transport Canada. With more than 30 years of experience in the airport industry, Howard plays an active role on many industry-related boards and organizations, including: • Canadian Airports Council • Airports Council International – North America • Airports Council International – World Governing Board • World Travel and Tourism Council Howard holds Bachelors’ degrees in Science and Commerce from the University of Alberta.
